[ steve appreciates the faith in him, but the truth is that he really doesn't think himself all that bright either. he's pretty decent with a weapon and knows he can survive a fight and for everything else, he tends to find the people he needs to be at his side. why worry about being bright when you've got dustin henderson to figure everything else out for you?
except that dustin isn't here, is he. so maybe there's a flaw in that logic. but he's doing his best anyway - and the older brother image isn't far from that truth. steve does get along best with the children around solvunn, which is how he ends up spending his hours helping out there more than anywhere else.
